Sixtyyearsago,underthejointinitiativeandfoundingsponsorshipofthefollowingthreestateleaders:PresidentChiangKai-shekoftheRepublicofChina,PresidentSyngmanRheeoftheRepublicofKorea,andPresidentElpidioQuirinooftheRepublicofthePhilippines,the“AsianPeoples’Anti-CommunistLeague,APACL”wasestablishedwiththemissionandgoaltostopthefastexpansionofthecommunistforcesinAsia.After12yearsofadvocatinganti-communism,theAPACLhadrapidlydevelopedinfull-fledgedmannerfromAsiatothewholeworlduntilitactuallybecameaworldwideorganization,the“WorldAnti-CommunistLeague,WACL”in1967.However,duetothefallandcollapseofmajorcommunistforces,theWACLwasrenamedasthe“WorldLeagueforFreedomandDemocracy,WLFD”in1991inordertostriveforrecruitingmorepeopletojointhefightforfreedomanddemocracy.
BasedontheprofounddocumentsoftheAPACLandtheWLFD,thisbookissimplyaimingtoloyallyrecordthehistorictruthoftheiranti-communistmovementsandtheirpursuitoffreedomanddemocracy.Withsystematicarrangementofthecontents,itclearlyrevealsthehistoryofthosepeoplewhoworkedhardtofightagainsttyrannyinordertopursuefreedomanddemocracy.AsamemberofUNNGOs,theWLFDnotonlyadvocatesthetrackIIdiplomacywithoutdistinctionastopoliticalaffiliationundertheguidelinesofthenationalpolicy,butalsoactivelypromotethedevelopmentoffreedomanddemocracyaroundtheworld.Itisthecommonassetforallpeople.HopefullythepublicationofthisbookcouldletmoreyoungpeopleofthenewgenerationappreciatethepreciousvalueoffreedomandevenfurthercooperateactivelywiththeWLFDtoprotectthehumanrightsandpromotethedevelopmentoffreedomanddemocracyaroundtheworld.
